We had to change the slate roof of a large, old building, which was a bit twisted out of shape. Andy did all the leg work for us with planning permission and so on and has done a great job with the roof. The work was done in good time, despite the blistering heat of mid-June.

Very sad when roof was finished and Andy and his team had to leave. They were so polite and professional. My roof was huge and alot of other roofers gave massive quotation as they clearly could not do the job. We had a very tight time frame and my wife is severely disabled. Andy and the lads worked late and early and weekends and kept us informed every single day and always explained and showed us what they were doing. I’m sure they did alot more woodwork than was even quoted.

We have recently had Andy and his team to carry out a full roof replacement and the result looks stunning. Even though we made all arrangements from the UK, Andy & Angie were extremely helpful and easy to contact throughout this process to get it booked in. On starting the project Andy and the lads were professional, hardworking and friendly and Andy kept us informed about work at all times. Everything went well with this team; the pre-quotation visit was done quickly during which Andy created a reassuring impression of competence and integrity, the quotation came through quickly for a quick installation, the price was competitve (compared to an established local roofing company) and the work was carried out quickly and efficiently. The cherry fell off the cake a bit when Andy pointed out at the end that one of the two Velux windows was slightly out of alignment with the tiles (if you looked for it which I don’t normally) but that was a small blemish. Andy was also helpful in explaining what I needed to do to complete the job on the inside with the plasterboard. All in all I’d recommend EQ. Well done!

Andy and team originally repaired our roof and fitted a few new sky lights a couple of years ago. Having returned to find a leak on returning after a very wet winter this year, a quick text and he was straight over and addressed the slipped tiles! Excellent service!

We chose Andy Quick following recommendations and weren’t disappointed. He came over, measured and sent a devis promptly. We did have to wait before work started but were kept informed along the way. The roof was stripped, felted, battened and retired in a week and looks superb.

Having secured first class service for planned repairs we discovered an unrelated secondary problem immediately afterwards which needed urgent attention not least because of constant rain. Our crisis was addressed without delay which was really appreciated. The works were done to a high standard, at a good price and at the agreed times. You cannot ask more than that .

We had a barn roof and House roof done by Andy and his team of 7 roofers. Friendly and hard working throughout. Andy and his team did a great job on our complete roof renovation. February is never going to be a good time to undertake a « roof off » project, however the Quickes team managed it very efficiently. The result looks fantastic and in keeping with the age of the building. It’s a big relief knowing we no longer have to break out the buckets every time it rains and the 10-year guarantee adds extra peace-of-mind.

We had the roof on an outbuilding replaced three years ago by Andy Quick and team and they did a superb job. When we recently decided to do the main roof of the house we had no hesitation to get them back. We had to wait over six months to get the job done (testament to his work and full order book) but once again they did an excellent job. Things like levelling the wonky old ridge and ensuring that I was happy with the position of the downpipes, and also when I wasn’t sure about the way one bit of guttering was done, it was changed without any fuss. The team were very friendly, greeting me politely each morning, and they tidied up at the end of every day.

I just wanted to say how delighted we are with the new roof on the barn and the attached cottage.  In fact, « delighted » doesn’t quite cover it, so here are some more superlatives: over-the-moon, blown-away, beaming, chuffed, amazed… It’s absolutely incredible!  I must confess, I had my doubts about how the modern tiling system would look in practice, equally how the under-roof areas would compare to the old, decrepit but much loved previous roof.  I needn’t have worried.  The juxtaposition of the old timber and stone with the impeccable modern roof that Andy and his team have fitted is simply delightful – it looks like a modern, engineered, but loving​ complement to the old building.  It’s no understatement that we’ve spent the last two evenings sat outside the house with a glass of wine admiring it.  The combination of the reassurance that we’ve safeguarded the structure for decades alongside the delight that comes from the sheer charm of its appearance is truly marvellous and I can’t thank you enough for it.

Not to mention the zinguerie.  We’ve never had guttering on any of the buildings in the time we’ve owned them – couldn’t afford it – but the fact that we now have some to call our own is a source of immense pride, and something definite we can aim to have added to other roofs in the future.  Every work area is spotless too (far more so than when we left it last August I’m ashamed to admit!). It’s clear that Andy and the team have gone all-out and it’s a testament to the quality, professionalism and workmanship that’s plain to see throughout.

During the recent week-end of strong winds I was surprised that about six tiles on the edge of my kitchen roof had fallen.    I had seen the advertisement of Andy Quick in one of the Free Magazines and wrote to ask for an estimate to repair the problem.    Knowing how busy most artisans are I was agreeable surprised to receive a telephone from Angie to arrange an estimate.

This was quickly received in a bilingual form for forwarding to my Assurance Company.    Andy and his two workers arrived on time and quickly renewed all the edging tiles, at the same time they altered the flow of the tiles around the kitchen chimney and renewed the Flashing.  The work was completed to a high competence.

Andy first impressed us with his « can do » attitude. Unfortunately, we chose mid October to get the house completely re roofed. It rained pretty much non stop. A problem which Andy handled professionaly and with good humour even though it was very frustrating for him (and us !!).

His team were great, always happy to help and very clean and tidy.

Because of the delays caused by the weather we had to leave Andy to it while we returned to work in Lyon. We did this with no qualms whatsoever as we knew that he would take the right decisions if needed. We did not return to the house until a couple of months after the work was finished. Thanks to Andy and the team, we are now the very proud owners of a fabulous new roof.  Angie and Andy overcame 11th hour supplier challenges cheerfully and competently, their main aim was to ensure that we would be happy with the end result, and we most certainly are happy.

We stayed in the house while the work was undertaken, and were very impressed with the professionalism of Andy and the lads, they worked tirelessly, and cheerfully and were a pleasure to have around.  They turned our front garden into a building site upon arrival, and cleaned up perfectly before leaving.

Andy was highly recommended to us by two separate friends that had worked with him  on other jobs, and we also, are very happy to recommend him and his work and wouldn’t hesitate to contact him again to do other work for us.

So our journey started in late 2018 when we finally bought our french farmhouse and moved here permanently. We were recommended to use Andy Quick by various sources and so called him to give us a quote and liked the fact that there were no hidden surprises.
From that moment on we knew we were in safe hands. Andy and Angie talked us through each step of the process (and it was a big one – 3 large roofs on 3 buildings with veluxes galore!) and the challenges that would be faced along the way (how to access the barn roofs at the back of the property, how to squeeze down our narrow Chemin with huge glue beams, tons of volige, tiles, sand etc..).  Andy gave us daily updates on site of what to expect and we were regularly asked for our input on decisions that came up as not every eventuality can be planned for. The speed with which the roofs came off was amazing but even more incredible was how quickly the new roofs went on!
The team were tireless and relentless as they constantly fought weather deadlines at each stage (we were living in the house so naturally wanted to stay watertight) and gave of themselves fully (even George giving up his beautiful stone for a new wall which now looks like it has been there for a hundred years). The guys were very professional and kept their sense of humor throughout despite several challenging days and deadlines that were needed for each stage to complete.
We now have 3 beautiful roofs and have loved Andy’s workmanship and attention to detail so much that he is now replacing our windows.
We would not hesitate to recommend them as they are competitive, professional and punctual (as well as understanding- we had to work around our son and new puppy as well).

We broke our usual habit and employed an English professional, after being ripped off by a French one.

The work involved the repair and complete retiling of our longère’s roof, including its garage – a total of 250 square metres.

Every aspect of the process has been superb and we would warmly recommend Andy and his team to anyone.

The speed and clarity with which Andy and Angie responded to our initial enquiry characterised communication throughout:  we always knew what they were doing, why, and what progress they were making.  Their initial estimate on timing was that we would have to wait several months before they could begin – reassuring that their work is in demand, but frustrating for us, as our roof was in a bad state.  In fact, a cancellation by a potential customer enabled them to start the work within weeks and, thanks to a massive effort by the team, the roof was completed in time for Christmas.

I would want to make special mention of Andy’s workmen.  It was a genuine delight to have them on the property.  They worked hard and expertly and with a wonderful sense of good humour, between themselves and with me.  They always listened to my sometimes daft questions and gave clear replies; nothing was too much trouble for them.  I always knew who was going to be here the next day and at what time and they adhered rigidly to the schedule, working on the roof in sometimes dreadful conditions.  When sections of the roof had to be left temporarily untiled, they took meticulous care to protect it by waterproof sheeting, weighting this down against the wind and themselves coming inside to check on and stop the inevitable little leaks.

For the first time since arriving here, I feel confident that my roof will not leak.  Andy is a perfectionist and clearly puts the customer first and I know that, if there is the slightest problem, which I don’t expect, he will be by our side immediately.  He has an excellent team of careful, expert workers and there is evident mutual respect and liking between them and an overriding care for the customer.

Andy will be the first person I will now contact, when I need more building work done, as I inevitably will.  It is a pleasure to volunteer this testimony to the quality of his work and I would be more than happy to answer any questions anyone might wish to have.

Nous avons changé exceptionnellement nos habitudes et avons fait appel à un artisan anglais, après avoir été escroqués par un artisan français.

Le travail consistait au remplacement de la couverture de notre maison – type longère – et garage, soit un total de 250m carrés.

Ils ont travaillé dur, savaient ce qu’ils faisaient et avaient de surcroît beaucoup d’humour entre eux, mais aussi dans nos échanges. Ils ont toujours été très attentifs à mes questions, même parfois stupides, et y ont toujours apporté une réponse claire et précise.  Je savais toujours ce qui était prévu pour le lendemain et combien de personnes seraient présentes et le planning a été respecté scrupuleusement, bien qu’ils aient eu à travailler dans des conditions climatiques affreuses.
Quand des portions de la toiture ont dû rester temporairement sans couverture, ils ont toujours pris un soin particulier pour bien les protéger avec des bâches, afin que le toit reste étanche, malgré le vent et la pluie.

We purchased our house in south west France and soon discovered like most that this house needed quite a lot of renovation. Andy Quick was recommended to us by some friends who had used him before.

We have found Andy and his team to have been excellent trades men, who have transformed our house from a run-down, tired old place to its former glory and what’s more they have managed to retain the property’s character as well. We have just had our house and barn completely re-roofed by Andy, Angie and their team. My husband Paul was on site whilst most of the work was underway. My wife and I purchased very old stone built terraced house in the Deux Sevres, France approximately 12 years ago. It is a holiday home and we have been happy in the house although the roof has always given me some concerns because of the quality of the old style tiles and the constant attention that it needed to maintain a water tight structure. Now well into retirement and fed up with climbing ladders to adjust and replace tiles we decided it was time for a new roof.

Andy Quick was recommended to me from 3 independent reliable sources as the best company to go to for roofing work in my area. We approached him and 2 other companies for quotes (devis). On meeting Andy I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge and the quote that he gave was competitive and the devis explained the breakdown of the prices for the work needed. We accepted Andy’s quote.

Angie (Andy’s wife) dealt with the permissions needed from the French administration, which was a bonus for us as our French language is very poor, and I have many emails from Angie keeping us fully informed of what was occurring. Because the house was within 500 metres of a historic monument it caused extra paperwork, but permissions were finally granted and the work went ahead July 2018.

Andy’s workforce for our roof was Colin who was normally in daily charge and Kevin, Jason and Barry on varying days. They were an excellent team who worked well and we were very pleased with the result. The new tiles are much thicker than the old style tiles and they interlock so there should be little movement with the weathering. They are very strong quality tiles, and the roof looks great.

I would fully recommend Andy’s company for any roofing work needed. Everything was efficiently dealt with. Thank you and your workforce for a quality job.

We have recently had our barn roof totally re-roofed by Andy Quick, we are  so pleased with the work carried out that we felt we must give him a reference.. He had been recommended  by a friend, so we phoned made an appointment and from then on everything went as planned.

We received a quote for the work promptly together with a start date, the workmen all turned up bright and early, the materials were delivered to site so the work could start straight away. It wasn’t an easy job because our access to the property was limited, but everything was organised to make it as straight forward as possible. We were given a completion date for the works and everything was finished a day before we had expected. The workmen just got on with the job cleared up everything as they went along so that we didn’t have to worry about tidying up afterwards.

We are not ready to have the roof done on our house just yet, but we will definitely want Andy Quick to do the job, If you need somebody reliable that does a really excellent job get in touch with him, you might have to wait for him to fit you in but it’s well worth the wait.

We have used Andy Quick Building Services on the repair and re-tiling of a roof of some outbuildings we have. Right from the initial contact we made and receiving a quote through to the completion of the roof, we found the service polite and efficient.
